Hear from 3 powerhouse female founders !
Danae Maragouthakis, Co-Founder and CEO of Yoxly
Danae is a doctor working in emergency medicine in Oxford, with 20 years of healthcare experience across four continents. She has a background in public health and is a member of the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV. Very much a “people person,” Danae loves collaborating with driven and diverse individuals to devise new or enhanced solutions that improve lives by promoting health and preventing disease. To that end, she co-founded two med-tech startups, both of which were accepted onto the University of Oxford's business accelerator program (Oxford Foundry Elevate). In addition to being the CEO of Yoxly, her second venture, Danae also serves as the medical director, head of partnerships, and has recently closed their first funding round.
Olamide Olowe, Founder and CEO of Topicals
Olamide Olowe is a recent graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles where she was a pre-Med student and received a B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in Race, Ethnicity, and Politics and a minor in Entrepreneurship. In 2015, Olamide co-founded beauty brand, SheaGIRL, in partnership with SheaMoisture. Sundial Brands, the parent company of SheaGIRL, was later acquired by Unilever in 2017. Currently, Olamide is the founder and CEO of Topicals, a skincare company transforming the way people feel about skin through effective products and mental health advocacy. Olamide spent 2 years pitching Topicals to over 100 investors before securing $2.6M in funding making her the youngest Black woman to raise over $1M. She has received notable recognition from Harvard Business School, Google, the PAC12, the UCLA Alumni Association, Allure, Teen Vogue, The Wall Street Journal, and Forbes.
Annabel Gatto, Co-Founder and CEO of Suitably
Annabel Gatto is the Co-Founder and CEO of Suitably, a direct-to-consumer workwear brand for women. Annabel developed her sense of office style while working in the corporate world. Her experience at Morgan Stanley, Groupon and Sullivan & Cromwell each required learning a new industry and deciphering a new dress code. Now, she reaches over 100,000 followers via @annabelfgatto on Instagram who come to her for affordable, practical style inspiration. Throughout her professional journey, she was often frustrated by the painful experience of shopping for workwear and the lack of resources available to help women succeed in the workplace. She heard over and over that young women, in particular, wanted simplification, more affordable prices and transparency. This formed the basis for Suitably where Annabel strives to keep customer input at the heart of every decision.
Annabel, is a graduate of Cornell University and Columbia Business School. She currently lives in Greenwich, CT with her husband, newborn daughter Nell and spirited goldendoodle, Theodore.
