The OxPrentice

Just announced: The Paperclip Challenge, 1st February 2010
The OxPrentice is an innovative new series of events held by Oxford Entrepreneurs, which was started in June 2009. It is a chance for students to take part in workshops which place them into real business scenarios and give them fantastic opportunities to see first-hand whether they have the skills and the know-how to be a successful entrepreneur.
The events will be a series of independent workshops in which companies will come in and talk about their particular field of expertise and demonstrate how such expertise can be used in that particular challenge. The events will be held in various locations around central Oxford and people will compete in teams of about ten people. The teams will brainstorm ideas and come up with a strategy for how to best complete the challenge, and for each challenge the winners will be decided by either their performance, or by the professionals adjudicating that particular event. Prizes will take the form of either opportunities for teams to be placed in a real business scenario without the risk of investing their own money, or top-of-the-range gifts provided by our sponsors.
With this being such an innovative new series of events, the PR potential from this is significant! What’s more, competitors will have an exceptional opportunity to work closely with our sponsors and really get to show them their potential.
