A serial entrepreneur, Stelios has established more than 17 ventures, the first of which was Stelmar Shipping at the age of 25. Stelios floated Stelmar Shipping on the NTSE in 2001 and in 2005 it was sold for approx $1.3 Billion.

Robert J C de Crespigny AC founded the Normandy Mining group in 1985 and built it to become Australia’s largest gold mining unit until its acquistion for about US$4 Billion in 2002. Between then and early 2006 he was the Chairman of the Economic Development Board of South Australia; between 2000 and 2004 he was also Chancellor of the University of Adelade. He was made a Champanion of the Order of Australia, Australias highest honour, in 2002.
He will discuss: the key features on the mining industry; the drivers behind the current bull run in commodities; a company’s value creation curve over the life cycle of mine development; the deal-oriented nature of mining management teams, and why the mining industry is producing hundreds of entrepreneurs.
