Stelios graduated with an Economics degree from the London School of Economics in 1987. Two years later he joined his father’s shipping company, Troodos Shipping. In 1992 he founded his first venture, Stelmar Shipping, which sold for £690m in 2005. Of course Stelios is most well known for launching the budget airline in Easyjet in 1995. However it is not so well known that he has his fingers in a number of different pies. In 1998 he formed the easyGroup holding company to extend the easy brand. In 1999 he launched easyInternetcafe and in 2000 he launched easyCar a car rental business. The easy brand extends to easyvalue.com easyBus, easyMobile and even easyPizza! A true personality, Stelios has been dubbed the new Richard Branson and we’re sure we will be hearing more about his exploits in the near future.
