Many companies talk about entering the Chinese market. In recent years, there has been a reverse trend: major Chinese companies are increasingly looking to enter international markets, often with the encouragement of the Chinese government.
Bosideng, China’s largest down-wear retailer with more than 10,000 outlets, is one such company. This August, it invested more than £5 million opening its European flagship store at the prestigious address of South Molton Street in London. The shop will sell premium clothing, and will become the template for its international expansion.
We are privileged to have with us Mr. Gao Dekang, Founder and CEO of Bosideng, to talk about how Bosideng intends to enter the international market. There haven’t been many successful examples of Chinese companies making headway in international markets, and Mr. Gao will share why he thinks Bosideng will be different.
Mr. Gao grew the company from his countryside factory with 8 sewing machines to a multi-billion empire just under 30 years. He is currently listed No.36 on the Chinese Forbes with a net worth of $1.9b.
The company will be giving out gift coupons at the event, which can be used for clothing and accessories in its winter wear collection – perfect for the coming term! A drink reception will be followed by the speech. To reserve your seat, fill out the form below. Click here for the poster.
